How to get the most of my Setup?

Might be my first post here. I know this is a broad spectrum of questions, but I’m trying to get some guidance and a few topics.
Setup is Denon X2400h, Martin Logan LX16 fronts, Motion 30 Center, and ML 60i in ceiling for surrounds (above couch). Subwoofer is Dynamo 700. Couch is up against wall, but I still plan on adding Motion 2 or 4’s as surrounds, and using the ML60’s as Atmos/heights I order to use all 7 channels.

Most of my movie viewing is done through rented Blu-ray’s playing through Xbox One X set up for pass through, or streaming set up on Bitstream (Mostly left on DTS).
I figured that’s as good as I’m currently going to get it for Movies/ games. If any improvements on settings can be made, please chime in.

I’m now wondering how to get the best out of music listening, and connecting and old Turntable for Vinyl (Akai ap-a201). Vinyl collection consists of mainly Classic Rock albums my Wife’s father gave her.
Here are my questions on the subject:
1. When it comes to preamps for the turn table, how big of a difference is there from $25, $50, and $100 units? (Not trying to go over that)
2. How do they compare to built in preamps in newer receivers?
3. What’s the popular Cartridge of choice for that turntable?
4. What is the best source for alternate music? I’ve seen lots on the subject including FLAC, DSD audio, and so on.

Also, I’ve seen lots of “Hi-Res/HiFi” channels on YouTube, but isn’t YouTube limited in what sound quality it passes through, or has that changed?

Appreciate any information on the subject.

Maybe an Audio Technica AT91 or AT95 for the cartridge? The 91 is conical and easy to setup the 95 is elliptical and a little more difficult but could provide a bit better performance. Both are inexpensive and easy to find online. If you have a phono amp in your receiver I probably wouldn't buy a separate phono amp for under $100. JMHO

The 2400h doesn’t have a built in phono input like the 2500 does. I was just wondering on the quality of built in vs a separate in that price range.

Pro-Ject Phono Box MM around $80. Pretty good reviews.

Choose carefully. Most of today's receivers don't have built in phono stages.

Unfortunately it's a bit late. I’ve had the system for over a year now, and even then, the 2400h was a bit more than I expected to pay as I wasn’t aware of the cost for quality. Music listening wasn't our main intention when looking. My wife and I went to a Best Buy looking for a decent home theatre system. We were thinking along the lines of Klipsch or so, as we had no actual knowledge of the world I was about to walk into. When they tried to show me sound bars and Polk Audios on a cramped shelf, I asked for actual surround sound. He then led me to the Magnolia room full of equipment and brands I had no knowledge of . I remembered looking at the ML ESPs confused as hell

Needless to say, I'm very happy with what we got considering our budget, now I'm just trying to maximize it.

Did some more research on the turntable, and it take a P-Mount cartridge. Any recommendations on those? Are the AT81cp and AT85ep the equivalent of the ones mentioned?
