How tall should speaker stands be??

I am looking to buy new stands for my Carnegie acoustic bookshelf speakers. I was not sure if the sloped from face means I need to position them lower or not. I assumed the goal was always to keep the tweet at ear height while seated, but with the sloped face does that change things....or am I splitting hairs.

Thanks

Jeff

I think as long as the total height (speakers + stands) isn't taller than most big towers (about 45-55") you are okay.

I think you have the right idea, I base my speakers on the listening position. I.E. I have taller speaker stands in my bedroom to coordinate best to my listening position.

Thanks guys.....

So place no focus on the sloped face just use the tweeter close to ear height rule of thumb.

Tweeters ear level when seated is how tall the stands should be.

So I technically need a stand that is 28" tall. I have options to get either 30" or 24" tall stands. Should I error on being short or tall. My gut tells me go a little short...especially since my theate seats recline so that will likely drop my ear height a little.

So 24" Yay or Nay. I am going with Sanus stand in Black lacquer made of wood.

Thanks

I'm not sure if the slope is for time aligning the drivers or is just aesthetic. Either way, I agree, ignore it and put the speakers at ear level.

speakers are 13.5" tall...tweet is sitting about 2-3 below the top. So that puts the tweeter at roughly 34-35"

I have the stands I linked you as well as the stands you linked in your post. The EF 28" stands are more durable/solid than the NF 24" (imo), but I have no issues with either stand. I'm using them on carpet though so I can't really comment on their stability on hard flooring (particularly if the flooring is not perfectly level).

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I will try your suggestion and go for the tripod...I do like the style.
