Wondering if anyone has any idea on the voltage requirments for a berkline automatic recliner. am setting up 2 rows of 3 and am wondering if i should run a line a dedicated breaker for the six seats, or if i can just tie into the nearest wall outlet. thanks for any suggestions! great site you guy's have already helped a newcomer out alot on ht.

I don't know about the specific requirements, but if you have the option and/or willingness to put in a dedicated line, I'd do it that way. Depending on the power demand it might take two, but where possible dedicated lines are best.

Unless you're going to use those recliners to split logs or lift V-8s, I wouldn't bother with a dedicated line. They're not particularly amp-hungry, and the operation would be pretty intermittent. I would, however, recommend dedicated lines to your HT electronics.

thanks, thats what i was leaning towards. i wouldn't want to pop a breaker if by chance a couple of people were moving seats around at the same time. problem is drywall is already up and ready to paint, platform for second row was a late addition(poor planning). but would still be easier now than after paint and carpet! speaking of paint any good color schemes out there? love to hear what you guy have experienced as this is my first.

I did run a dedicated line for the tv(pioneer elite 60"plasma)but just one for the rest of the componets. Is this suffient? When I asked salesman at a/v store about this he informed me that technically to meet pioneers standards and to cover myself in case of a problem that I should run a line conditioner off the tv before plugging it into the power source. Is there any truth to this and if so should all the componets be run through the conditioner first? Thanks for the help

Always be suspicious of advice from people who are trying to sell you things. If you live in an area with reliable power, a conditioner isn't necessary. I do believe in surge protection, however. You can get a perfectly adequate unit for less than $100 like the Tripplite mentioned in this site. I've never seen anything from any manufacturer demanding a line conditioner, but the manager of the store that sells AV gear is going to push this stuff, as well as overpriced cables.

Next time you are in there ask for that Pioneer tech notice or where it is in the manual as you must have missed it even after the 10th reading
