Does anyone know if a Denon 2308CI will drive my Sonus Faber- Cremona Auditors? They need quite a bit of current. Will it hurt them not having enough?

The Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor M's are a 4 ohm speaker. I would say "No" the Denon is not what you ant to power these with. I would use the Denon as a pre/pro, and drive the speakers with

If my memory serves me correctly, Denon left off the pre-outs on the 2308. I'll check. In the meantime, can I interest you in a Yamaha or Onkyo.

As for amps, another member just picked up a Rotel RB-1070 for $400 that would perform admirably. As long as it is 4 ohm stable, you should be fine. Almost any separate amp from Emotiva to Krell will drive those speakers.

Will it hurt them not having enough power? Only if you drive the amplifier into distortion or drive the speakers beyond their own limits. Common sense and awareness are your best safety measures.

edit - The 2308 does not have preouts. http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/receivers/avr-2308ci

I know this is an old thread, but I figured I'd post in case someone else is in this situation.

I just picked up a pair of Cremona Auditors for my bedroom system and am driving them with an Arcam AVR350. The Arcam is doing an admirable job of driving them. The soundfield they put out is incredible and their clarity and detail is amazing..
