Do you have any heat issues, or output issues with the Yamaha?
Hey Seth got to assemble most of my ht today. Should have it done by the end of the weekend. As such, I will post some pics. I did, however, get to run YPAO ONLY on my front stage and can easily say I am impressed. The RTi6's along with the CSi3 sound very good. The Mirage S10 is perfect for that size of a room. In fact, it really does not sound like a 10" sub but bigger. Very tight and punchy sounding with very good extension. The Yammie 663 did not get hot-just warm to the touch even though I cranked it a bit. The RTi6's did not sound bright at all and the S10 blends superbly. I even turned the levels up a bit and the 663 still did not get hot. It did get a bit warm at times but only when I really cranked it up. I also determined that the Motorola DCH6416 is NOT for me. My LCD has a better scaler so I will be returning it tomorrow morning. Thus, my cable is hooked up directly from the wall to the antenna in of my LCD. I have my Toshiba A-3 hdmi out to the hdmi in of the 663 and then the hdmi out of the 663 to the in of my LCD. Hope to watch some movies over the weekend. Will report more later but did want to share my initial impressions of the 663.

I have two old Technics floor speakers that are 240W. I have the whole set.. receiver, surround sound, cd, equalizer, etc. I am wanting to replace my receiver with HDMI but don't know what I need for the floor speakers. They sound great now. Will the new receivers that I see that are 90 - 110w per channel be enough to push these speakers? I really don't know that much about it. Thanks for your help.
What is the model number of your old Technics speakers? I used to have a pair of SB-T200s . They weren't bad for the money but I upgraded to PSBs

I'm not sure.. I'll check when I get home.

Had to put the audio on hold for a bit as I had to get a new couch... I had to choose from either sitting and listening to the tv speakers or stand and have great sound.. sad but I chose to sit :D

I am down choosing between the Onkyo Onkyo TX-SR605S or the Yamaha RX-V663. Help me decide. I can get them for basically the same price.. within 10 dollars of each other.

Receiver options

Those receivers have similar features but the Yamaha includes pre-amp outputs. Onkyo will have a newer 606 model out soon so there should be some discounts on the 605.

Last question.. if I can get the 861 for the same price as the 663 should I still get the 663? It looks like the 663 has all the newer features except it doesn't have upscaling.

Actually I may go with the SR606 for 1080i upscaling and 4 hdmi inputs for like $80 more.
