How many posts do you need to sell an item??? I have an item that I would like to sell.

Looks like a great site with lots of info but don't have much to talk about.

Thanks

I give you an "E" for honesty.

At least we all can see where you're coming from, and for what.

still didn't answer my question... I really don't have much to talk about besides it is a great product and works great when the power is out. But right now I don't have the use for it. I also have a RGPC that I really like.

I have to say.. being a newbie to this site and getting that type of a response makes feel very unwanted.. how many other new guys asking a question get the same response???

ouch

LOL... owning my own sites (atv sites), 2 of them I like the fact that folks can post stuff for sale. Who know what great deal one of my members might get.....

For some time I required 2 posts.. A hello my name is and another post then they could place something for sale. Since I have stoped that I get more than 2 posts out of the person.

just IMO

A lot of newbies will come here and post their websites selling cell phones, etc... Those types of newbies are unwanted. Advertisers have to pay to list equipment. If you are selling an item you've personally owned and used - pertaining to A/V, and not trying to market something, that is fine. As far as trying to make a free profit on a forum, that's looked down upon.

FWIW, welcome to the forum.

The question has been asked before but I'm sorry to say I can't really tell you right off. Not that I don't want to, I just can't remember. Seems like we initially set it at 10 or 15 or something. There's no rule as to what the posts must be, but we don't like people to simply spam to reach a certain number (Sheep is the exception!:D ).

The reason behind it was, as has been mentioned, we were getting spammers selling Viagra knockoffs and cloned cell phones. It's a lot easier if we weed those types out by requiring a minimum post count. As a side effect people are usually more confident buying from or selling to someone they "know" a little bit. Anyone could rip you off, but a long time forum member with a lot of posts usually won't risk their reputation here by screwing you.

Yeah Sheep, you've reached over 4,300 posts and they still won't let you sell something. :p

(BTW- I think it's 20 posts)

It is somewhat of a hassle, but probably worth it in the long run - and this adds one more to my mighty post counts. To bad I couldn't use some of my posts from car audio forums ... :(
