Yeah, I am aware of the problem that many had with Oblivion; I am lucky enough to not have that issue for some reason. A quick internet search will tell you how to clear the memory cache upon boot-up to eliminate this problem. However, my console had serious issues with Bioshock (memory cache) that caused stuttering and audio-sync problems. Bioshock's solution (as published on their troubleshooting FAQ) was to hold down both shoulder buttons while the game booted until the "Press Start" screen came up. This completely solved my problems with Bioshock. I think Oblivion has a similar boot-up fix but I can't remember...
