How does upconversion work when there are multiple upconverting devices?

Hi folks. I'm wondering how upconverting works when you have a blu ray player, receiver, and TV that all upconvert? Which one takes precedence or do they all do some conversion to achieve the best result? Can you configure which one does the conversion? Thanks.

If they are all 1080p capable and you want to watch at 1080p then yes you can configure which one does the conversion.
