I pay in cash but I may bust out the credit card soon...I am running out of money. It wouldnt make sense to wait until I can afford a new AVR and speakers. It is her fault anyway for picking out a house with such a big room that I had to buy a bigger plasma and now a whole new stereo. I have noticed that she likes having the LCD from the living room in the bedroom and she is spending more time in there now! Maybe I should go in there but I am busy watching movies on the new plasma. Now that I think about it....this will never work...I think I will just upgrade her after I get my PSB's...

Yeah, really????? If anyone has some dumb blondes they want to get rid of, please pm me, I'm sure I can accomodate you.
I actually married the dumb blonde when I was eighteen. She left me for an old fart with money, had a kid, and he left her. I dated a few more of these type women, only to be let down in similar ways. I am now maried to a hot, young, smart, educated, loving, and caring brunette(light brown). I was fortunate enough to snag her before I got to looking like I look today. Better get the good one while you still have it in you.

I save and look for what I want. I generally buy on the used market so I save a bundle there. Most of my purchases are made with a long life in mind. My main speakers are more than 10 years old. 2 of my amps are 30+ years old. I recently purchased a new Lexicon pre/pro. It was my first new purchase in more than 10 years.

We get old.
We get fat.
We get ugly.
Better snatch-up the best looking woman you can get now.
Unless you want to be the old fart with the young, dumb blonde.

But, with option #4, you may end-up being someone's b!t(h.
What's wrong with option #5? I'm already an old fart:D

I have one question. How do you guys pay for this addiction?? Do you use credit cards, cash, loans or what??!! Do you have to go through the same troubles after every single piece of audio equipment you buy??!! Having the wife mad, complaining how it is not a priority and blah blah blah!!! I was wondering if this is normal. LOL I find myself thinking of new ways to get stuff in the house without it being known. I tell ya. WEll let me know.:D
Well, my 1st wife and I got married too young. She liked to spend money but hated to earn it.  The 2nd wife had a fascination with jewelry and shoes and chlothes and hair products and having her nails done...........need I say more.......LOL!!!!!:D :D Got rid of her too because she got in the way of what I refer to as my "AUDIOPHILENESS". Have also tried the live-in gf thing and that was really a bad idea-always changing things no matter how much friction it caused. Very content right now living single and staying unattached. Now on to audio bliss.................thank GOD himself!!!!!!:) :)

Some of it cash, some of it credit (Never said I made the worlds best decisions). But all future upgrades will be cash-only.

I had a lot of my gear before I got married, and she knows that I spend a lot of time researching gear before a purchase is considered. She has a new car and we holiday 2-3 times a year so it's not like she is lacking for anything.

Plus she loves Sing Star played through my system with the big screen.

i've spent much of my savings on this audio hobby ...
I'm paying for my TV in monthly installments (0% interest for 18 months)

Wife? What the heck is that?

I only buy something when it's a right thing to do (IE: somethings broken, or the upgrade is really necessary). My brother, mom and dad pretty cuss me out every stinking time I consider buying something, and I hate to hear them speak, so I usually never act.

That sounds good. I have a good paying job, that gets better every year with seniority. My wife has a pretty good job too. We don't vacation too much because that is my job!!:D She doesn't care what car she drive, or where she lives or anything material. She is happy seeing the bank account grow and grow. Then I do my stuff and bring it down again.!! I too don't tell her the exact cost of things. I just bought a Rotel RMB 1075 and an RSP 1068. She asked and I told her it was $1250 for the both. She is pretty smart and now I'm worried that she will look up the price on the internet and ask how I paid for the remaining $1550!!! Tha's how I get in trouble.

We just moved to Florida and spent a year apart. I was supposed to get an economical car here just to get around. I told her I bought a Nissan Sentra when I had really bought and Nissan 350Z!!:D Boy to this day I still here about it when one drive by :(

I already have an idea of what I want. I just keep putting a few bucks away until I have enough for that item. The other thing is to buy a piece at a time, or in my case, one speaker at time until I can swap them out.

I bought the 350Z too; it gets 20 mpg so it is an economical car.
