My speaker manual states the speakers are 8 ohm compatible. My onkyo txsr805 has a 6 ohm setting and a 4 ohm setting. Right now its set at 6. Would 4 be safe to change it to and give my speakers more power? My ps3 puts out weak sound for blu rays but my toshiba hda30 puts out much louder sound for reg dvds and hddvds. Thanks in advance.

if you have 8 ohm speakers then leave them at 8 ohms. I beleive that the switch is actually to limit power to lower impedence speakers to prevent amplifier clipping from being overdriven. the only way for more power is to buy either a more powerful separate amp or a more powerful receiver. Ever consider that your speakers are just not as efficient as they need to be? Keep in mind that doubling the power only will make it 3db louder and it takes 10db to double the loudness. If one source is louder and the other is to quite, then it might be how you have your source outputting.
