How do I dial this stuff in

Seriously, I have no life.
Well I stumbled upon the Tips and Tricks area of the website where I found the speaker setup area. This area has many articles to guide a person on setting up all the various speakers. I am really surprised that I was not pointed to this area as a place to learn how to "dial in your system". Actually it seems to be the norm on the internet to be reprimanded for not doing your research and reading these tech articles before asking such a question (which is a compliment to the members here).
Well, we are a forgiving bunch of guys, and one or two gals;) But, there is so much at that area that it is hard to remember what is there. Hope you found some good answers there.

OK, I moved the speaker under the TV. I think it sounds better. I also have ordered a sanus Woodbridge cabinet. Although the TV trays served me well I realized there limitations. :)

I've had the center both above and below the TV and it's mostly 6 or one vs half dozen of another; however, humans are better are locating sounds that originate below our ears. So, if given the choice, above the TV should be better as it makes it harder to localize the sound as coming from a particular location.

His previous setup placed the bottom of the TV at the top of his speakers, unlike other setups where the speakers are about in the middle of the TV and the center on top is but a few inches. In his case, it was a good 2ft above his L/R speakers and I would think that would make it sound odd, especially if a voice is panned.

Yep, mtrycrafts but you know as well as anyone that sometimes the technically correct placement isn't always the best. For some reason I felt it would be good to point out that above the TV is usually better but as I said I have had it both ways and find it difficult to really notice any difference between the two.

Whatever works is best. :)
