How could I bring these Speakers back to life?

These are Cerwin Vega VS-100 I had since 1993, would you recommend finding good drivers for these or is the box trash. What would you do if these are savable? Back then I thought I paid real good money for these with my 1993 Harmon Kardon.

Thanks in advance.

From the list from that site, which brand name is good or all they all good, plus I don't want to spend too much.

Thanks

Those are some party speakers, and it looks like you helped them fulfill their destiny! I like the pictures of the speaker laying out on the grass, just chillin' on a summer day.

I wish that I could help you out, but I'm not experienced with this. There are a few people here that are good at speaker builds and repair - I'd say give them a little time to see this, as it is a weekend.

If you want to bring it back from the dead, reconing is the answer. Orange county and others can do it for you. It will cost you about $70 per speaker I believe.

If you are at all handy, I can talk you through doing it yourself. You could buy the parts, shims and glue from them. You would only be out the parts and supplies if you foul the job up. Either way you will learn a lot on the way, and acquire a new skill. I have posted on this before. Don't have time to dig for the posts now, but may be you can dig for them.

Contact PartsExpress to get their recommendation on what driver might work.

Also like I stated before contact Cervin Vega and see what they say.

Since you have them opened up; and if you're handy and like a project.:)
I'd get some caulk or hot glue and seal all the inside seams. It looks like a few are opening up, from dampness.
Then, I would swap out both caps in the crossover; especially the green electrolytic.
Fifteen years for some electrolytics is a little long in the tooth.
