Never even HEARD of 80% of them. Talk about a competitive product.

Then again, having heard of one vs hearing one is another thing. While I have heard of a majority, and even have a few, haven't heard many. No Philharmonics on that list I notice :)

I would buy the Boston Acoustics HD8's. Peace and goodwill.

Only Philharmonics were mine and I sold them for more than I asked. Even with that I wish I had them back ; (

What narrows the selection down for consumers is price brackets. Yeah, there are dozens of different bookshelf speakers available, but how many in the $300 to $500 range? Or $500 to $800 range? Or $1k+, etc. There is still fierce competition but still a lot fewer to choose from.

Wonder if they are still available since April?

In that you just replaced the crossover? :)
Certainly not a custom on the old models. And there's never been a "list price" of $250.

Hard to say. I think a majority of stuff listed there never sells (at least it doesn't sell through that site - it might sell somewhere else).

I mainly stick to Ebay

But I narrowed the Audiomart down to 67 options by using the filter for $50 to $250 with pictures -- as far as the Phils, I would just buy from Dennis

Some options >
Elac series 2

Kef 102

NHT SB2

Rogers LS2 if you can get a picture with the grills off

Boston HD8

I would seriously consider a pair of the current AAs from Dennis. I really liked them. Not much question at around the $200-ish point, they're what I would buy again. Is size a factor?

The $200-ish AA's are no more!
They have been replaced by the AA Plus which runs $290/pr.

Dennis upgraded the tweeter to a Morel MDT32S:
https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/morel-soft-dome-tweeters/morel-mdt32s-1-textile-dome-tweeter-aluminum-face-plate-rear-chambe/

The old tweeter ran $40/pr, the new one is $128 more at $168/pr and Dennis increased the price by $90! What's wrong with this picture?!;)

Dennis surely gets some type of quantity discount to allow this, but the price he is selling the completed pair of AA Plus speakers for is definitely below what you would pay for the parts to DIY a pair!
The regular AA's were ~$200 speakers that outperformed any speakers I compared it to under $500 MSRP and I know Dennis would not change to the new tweeter unless it yielded a significant improvement, so I am pretty excited about the AA+!

Sorry, those are the ones I meant, and I also meant $300-ish. The BR-1 based NEW AA. They're still what I would buy :)

It looks like he is calling them Affordable Accuracy Plus on his website to help keep the distinction between models clear!

If I were needing some bookshelf speakers, I'd be all over those KEF Reference ones. Probably. :D
