Trump is sinking the US economically but good and pissed off long time allies as well. What f?cktard!!!
And some of his supporters have the gonads to say they like high gas prices. Or at least they are really lying about it in an interview.

To return to the title of this thread, senior figures in the UK are warning we are now on the cusp of WWIII.
Saudi Arabia is on the cusp of declaring war on Iran, after strikes on their processing facilities that have done severe damage to oil and liquid natural gas production.

This whole adventure was unwise and the result of a pig dribble ignorant US President who never reads anything of consequence.

Just one thing shows it. You can't protect from mines or sweep for mines unless you have total control. That means the war is won and hostilities in the region have ceased. We are far from that. So the Straights of Hormuz will remain closed until that point is reached. Meanwhile Trump belittles NATO allies for not putting forces in harm's way for no possible gain.

Now the Iranians are making moves to close the Red Sea to shipping. That will virtually cut off the world from middle eastern oil and gas.

Prices for petrochemicals of all types have now doubled across Europe, and there are worries of inadequate supplies.

This will put huge pressure on our gulf and East Coast ports to supply Europe and on the Pacific coast to supply Asia. This will put pressure on our supplies with even rationing having to be introduced here and in Europe. In Europe discussions on ratioing are starting to emerge.

This gets me back to one of my original worries, and that is that the picture below shows Iran's greatest defensive asset.

The above picture is being showed widely in the UK.

This is why Trump's adventure was so ill advised.

You won't solve this problem without boots on the ground. No war have EVER been won without that short of the nuclear strikes on Japan.

This brings me to my concern from the beginning, that this will end in nuclear war unless there is a negotiated settlement and soon.

Trump's infantile speech in 24 hours after beginning hostilities shows how infantile, out of touch and demented he is.

We are in uncharted and very dangerous territory now.

It's bad when an analyst says it doesn't seem like Trump really listens to his military experts.

That is because he is demented and Congress won't do anything about it. His conversation at the White House today with the prime minister of Japan was right in "never never land." The look on her face said it all. This lunatic is now embarrassing us all on the world stage.

Thank heavens Iran has not gone after the water desalination plants. Many do not realize how dependent some Arab nations have become on desalination plants for drinking water. That is a huge vulnerability for those countries. Iran could make this a whole lot worse for the region if they wanted to. Israel made a huge mistake attacking the South Pars oil field (one co-used by Qatar). The damage Iran has done to neighbouring oil and LNG plants is going to take months to repair so Trump's claim that oil prices will drop once he ends the war is wishful thinking.

Agreed and with that being said it would have been helpful had not Trump $hit upon so many of our allies.......
OK, but at some point, agreement is needed WRT what a dictatorship has been doing for decades, nt only regarding human rights, but also by sponsoring Hamas, Hezbollah and other terririst groups that have been effing up shipping and creating ecological disasters in that region. NOBODY has lifted a finger and they continued their nuke program, even after the sanctions. We DO NOT need them to have nukes (nobody does, but here we are).

TBH, I think some of those allies have been causing their own problems.

I wouldn't have followed the war monger Netanyahu in at all. There other more covert ways of doing it. Sadly, the puppet US president followed Israel into the war for personal reasons, not regime change as falsely advertised by the republican clusterf?ck.

Unless they are on solar and backup battery disrupting other fuel supply for electricity will do the trick to some extent, I would think.
