I'm suprised no one mentioned Kenny Burrell (guitarist), but some see him as bluesy. I love the EP he did with John Coltrane. Coltrane is probably my top Jazz artist, but not my wife's (too "spastic" for her").

Heck yeah, love that Charlie Christian and Kenny Burrell--good stuff, too many favorite good guitarists for me to list 'em all. And then there's all the other jazz instrumentalists and vocalists, good grief. But I will say Miles is my all time fav.

Charlie Christian is king of jazz guitar. Practically invented the guitar solo, one of the first people to use electric guitar, revolutionized jazz improvisation which directly influenced the bebop era (Parker, Gillespie, Davis). Unfortunately all his recordings are fairly poor, but his genius shines through.

others worth listening to:
Tal Farlow
Grant Green
Charlie Byrd
