You might want to contact Del Won and see if he can quote you something cheaper for the cabs. I downloaded the PDF for the cabs and they don't look hard at all so his quote shouldn't be too high depending on the finish.

The cabs look simple enough that you could probably find a number of DIY'ers who could build put the cabs together cheap. I'd be more than happy to do it, but I know my finishing skills leave something to be desired.

Just a thought.

Not going to replace the stuff here with anything that matters until I am here full time. The only thing out of that gear the bothers me were my second set of A/V-2s because those aren't so simple to replace since I am pretty sure nobody builds those cabinets anymore and fully built versions will be somewhere around $800-900/pr.

They were just flat black finish, but the cabinets were slightly different than the default plans, with 1" radiused edges. I could build the default cabinets no problem :) They stole my router though....

We aren't there all the time because we split locations due to work, so it is a vulnerability. Well, this week they got us pretty bad. The sad thing is, they must have come and gone a few times and NOBODY apparently noticed that it wasn't us. Safe gone. Firearms and a ton of ammo gone. All electronics and all of my media gone. The most important stuff typically stays with us, so we didn't lose anything critical, but we did lose some things that will be pretty much impossible to replace. Apparently the police said we are the 10th house in our area in the last 2 months. I have not even arrived yet, just got the call from the little woman because she went up tonight and I was packing to go up tomorrow. It makes me sick that people are so selfish and idiotic.

Won't have any access while up there now most likely, so probably won't be back on for a few days potentially.
That's terrible...I got hit once years ago.

What I didn't like is that the Police told you AFTER the fact that's the 10th house in two months. I wish there was a system in place to let you know something like that Before Hand.

Hopefully he hasn't filed any other claims (natural disasters, fire, etc) within the last 5 years. Some companies will cancel your policy if you claim more than once every 5 years.

No claims. The fire last year didn't require any major repairs and we paid the fence replacement out of pocket.

Stupid that they will drop you for something like that. It isn't like natural disasters or thieves take time off.

Good for you.

Insurance companies care about one thing - making money for themselves, not us good people.

If you search the web, you will see a lot of good people complaining about how they've been with the insurance company for 30 years, but then got cancelled just because tornadoes hit destroy the homes or baseball-size hail storms decimate the roofs.

Insurance companies are usually heartless. It's a mad, mad world and a sad, sad world.

I could be entirely wrong, or misinformed, here but... I thought insurance companies were mandated by law to make profit, otherwise they will be shutdown? I heard that going through school from a professor. Is that true? I tried to look around on a Google search real quick, but didn't see anything worthwhile in the few pages I clicked through.

Sorry about your loss J. Sounds like you have wheels set in motion to get it back though.

Insurance paid out on Friday. Even though they were great about it and moved rather fast on it, it doesn't truly cover what was taken. "Fair" value is fine for most of the stuff, but now I have to go do all the leg work to recover some things, and some will be difficult or expensive to replace. Starting to order certain things already, but not going to replace everything until other protection options are installed.

Losing ~400 movies, some of which were rare and already expensive, is proving to be a huge task to replace. Most of those I can live without, but a few that I would like to get back are OOP and will mean locating used or paying a lot for a new copy compared to what their "blanket" value for DVDs/BDs was.

Ordered a pair of Carnegie CSB-1s from Danny at GR today. The TP60 amp should be here today or tomorrow. Pick up the shotgun on 9/11...

Quite a looker, did you have a pair before? Glad things got moving fast for you. I know how you feel. I really do. Shotgun that made me laugh. :)

I have heard the N2X which uses the same tweeter but a larger woofer (6 1/2" vs 5 1/4") than this one and I had decided that if I built or bought a pair, it would be the N1 or N1X, which this speaker is based on. They should be a step up from the speakers I lost at about the same price I paid for them.

They stole my shotgun :( That was a top priority on the list to replace.
