Hot question here: B&W DM602 S2s vs. Ed Frias' (EFE) Ext Mod BIC DV62si?

Gentlemen,

I realize I'm lighting a fire here and I also realize there is no "right" answer to this question, as choosing between two speakers is very much a subjective issue. As a pro audio engineer, if I had the chance to A/B the two, I wouldn't dream of asking as I trust my ears 100% (my ears make me money!). But I don't have that chance so I'm wondering if you guys can provide any insight.

Currently I'm borrowing a pair of B&W DM602 S2s (not series 3, I wish) and I might soon become the owner of this pair and a second pair. (The current owner owes me money and we're talking about him giving me the speakers to cover part of it.) I LOVE these speakers!!!!!! Not the best I ever heard but I am a huge fan. I'm currently using a Boston Acoustics CRC center channel speaker (small but cheap and sounds fine, plus the family doesn't mind it too badly) and a borrowed little B&W sub which is going away soon, as I'm buying a Hsu STF-2 in a week or two.

Now the question is, I can get about $400 a pair for these on eBay and I got a very helpful email back from Ed Frias with his pricing and whatnot on the Ext Mod BIC America DV62si and the CLR and whatnot. He wants $250 a pair (US) for the DV62si and $160 for the DV-62CLRS Center Channel. CHEAP! Since his speakers get such glowing reviews across the board, naturally I'm curious to know if I'd like them better than the B&Ws (keeping in mind I'll be augmenting either set with the Hsu). I could sell the B&Ws on ebay, get all new EFE (Ed's) speakers, and pocket the difference or put it towards the sub.

So, has anyone compared these specific speakers? Think the Ext Mod BICs can stand up to the B&Ws? The DM602s (even Series 2) are really sweet sounding boxes so the BICs would have to totally blow me away to make me glad I made the switch.

The speakers will be in a fairly small room, maybe 12 x 14 or 16 or something like that, your average suburbs single home with wall to wall carpeting. There are several openings so the room sounds fairly neutral. Power provided by my Onkyo TX-SR702, 100 watts/chan. Currently using my Boston Acoustics CR75 bookshelf speakers (my studio monitors actually) as surrounds. I just adore those lil guys. Such sweetness for such a low price. :) The original plan was to put together a complete Boston system, CR75s front and rear with the CRC center and a Hsu sub, but since I got the B&Ws...

Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks!
