Can anyone explain the differences in the horn designe and the pros and cons I think they sound a little distorted (KLIPSH), is it just me?

Mostly I think it is a matter of personal taste. Although I like a rather bright speaker I find most horn loaded speakers to sound "Strident". A little too harsh for my taste. As I said, it is mostly a personal choice.

I have heard several of the Klipsch classics in past years, CornerHorns, Cornwall II's, Forte's, La Scallas. On good amps, none of them ever sounded harsh, actually they sounded nothing like you would think a horn would sound like. I have heard harsh horns, but not on a Klipsch.

Horn loaded tweets

The Horn Loaded design allows for eficient speakers that can play loud with less amplifier power vs. a similar speaker with a dome tweeter. Some don't like the horn loaded sound, especially from the low end Klipsch that you find at BB or CC. Once you get up to the Reference line, they are more neutral.

thanks for the help guys, in honesty I have probably only heard the low end Klipsh speakers, maybe I will try to find a Klipsh dealer with high end models and have a listen-not that I can afford them right now but hey you never know what the future might hold:)

If you don't like the horns at BB, I doubt you will like the rf line. It's definately a preference issue. I prefer metal domes. Some prefer soft domes. Some companies are better at making them sound great no matter what they use. Find a B&W dealer. It will open your eyes(ears):D . And though they may be too expensive, they were for me, you will know the sound you are looking for.;)
