Hi, As the title say's hope i am in the right forum. I have just bought a 32" lcd tv with hdvi connection. I intended to use the tv for use as a second screen for my computer. I have connected it up, but the picture is bad and the size does not seem adjustable. Any ideas. If more information is required i will try and provide it.

Do you have HDMI out of the computer to the TV? If not, what video are you using? If other than the HDMI may want to check the TV manual and see if it indicates what resolution that video connection will accept? If the HDMI, you may have to get into the computer's monitor section to set it up so it outputs the native resolution of the TV.
Others may have more ideas. I am not a computer geek

hi, yes have the hdvi lead out of the pc into the tv. cannnot find any settings on the tv. i have tried all the settings on the pc in regards of set up and cannot seem to get a clear screen. the words on the tv are not in focas, you see to of everything sort of thing, the sreen size is only a little over half to. sorry i am not that clear.

I think you need help from a computer person. Your TV is not the one that will be set up but the video on the computer to match the native res of the TV, somehow

last time I had video problems ... I emailed my video card manufacturer (inno3d in my case) and I was sent instructions on how to do the stuff.

I use the vga input btw.

HDVI? I think you mean DVI.

Video card settings

I am also using a 32" inch LCD connected to my PC. The TV is 720p but its resolution is lower than the 19" Sony CRT monitor it replaced.
After connecting the TV to the computer, go into the display properties in the control panel. Verify that the computer lists the new display and change the video card output from the default (800x600) resolution to the highest resolution that the TV supports (720p, etc.). The TV should look pretty good once it is setup properly. I used the VGA output from my PC because I don't have HDMI or DVI on my PC.

You should let us know what type of LCD you actually own. You basically are saying "I own a car, and it doesn't work right, what am I doing wrong?"

Always provide full information: Make & model as well as any specifics about connections. ie: HDVI is not a correct term. You either have HDMI or (more likely for this setup) DVI, between the PC and the LCD.

What you typically want to do has already been stated: Right click on you PC desktop and choose 'PROPERTIES' go to the SETTINGS tab and adjust your resolution for the new LCD display so it matches the native resolution of that display.

For example, if your LCD display has a native resolution of 1365x768, then you want to adjust your PC output so that it is delivering 1365x768 to your display.
