Hello from Miami.

I'm n the middle of purchasing an entertainment system (first time) and I was hoping you folks might enlighten me. Let me tell you what I've purchased so far.

1) Sony 43" Big Screen Projection Television KP-43HT20
2) Denon 2802 a/v receiver

What I need from you folks is a good surround sound system that can fill a room 12' x 25' with music and still be good for watching movies.

According to my research so far I'm leaning toward the Klipisch Synergy 6. It consists of two SB-1 bookshelf speakers, one SC.5 center channel, two SS.5 surrounds and a KSW-10 subwoofer. Has anyone heard this system or know of a better one for the same price?

My wife and I mostly watch satellite tv. The kind of music we listen to when we throw parties is trance, house, garage and when we have dinner parties it's chillout music. Mostly from cd's or off the web from Ministryofsound.com.

I would say we would use it more for the tv (90%).

I read the article you referred and looked up the prices. I really don't want to spend much more than $1000 on the speakers and receiver. We've already $1700 for the tv with all of monster cables, 5 year warrentee, cabinet stand, etc.

Hi
I mentioned the artical because it shows the
strenghts and weekness of the Klipsch brand
horn speakers sound different than conventional speakers
It sounds like Klipsch would be a perfect match for your taste
of music and horn speakers are excellent for HT
they will have plenty of slam for your party music
and will be a very easy load for your receiver to drive
because they are very efficent
Happy Listening

Thanks Ray you've been great. I'm going to go to Sound Advice and listen them and get a price. I'll probably find them cheaper on the internet or ebay. I understand that ebay now has some type of warrantee for stuff purchased there, is that true?

Hi,
If you haven't already bought a system, look into Dahlquist. I just went through #### deciding on what system to get for my 6.1 upgrade. You can check them out at dahlquistaudio.com and audioshopcanada.com. They produce several systems for all budgets and they sound great. Marc at Audioshop can put together a great deal for you(+ you get the benefit of the canadian exchange rate). I also have a Denon AVR-2802 and I'm loving my Dahlquist system.

My system:
Mitsu WS-48311 TV
Denon AVR-2802 RCVR
Mitsu DD-8020 DVD
Onkyo TA-2600 Cassette
Dahlquist Speakers (3-QX4/2-QX20R/QX40C/QX100S)

Cute, but useless, response. You DO know this thread has been dead for about thirteen years, right?
