Home Theatre Suggestions?

I am just setting up my HT system and have started out with Definitive Technology DR 7's. I think they sound really good considering what I got them for . Some others mentioned that they would much rather have the bp 10;s for example without a built in amp, and have a supercube with it. My dr 7's dont have a built in amp, and I was going to go with the supercube, and maybe some Bi-polar sourround, also DT. Thinking about going with the small CLR center as well. Any suggestions to go along with what I already have? Trying to stay on a budget and need a good receiver to handle these speakers. Looking to stay in the 500-650 range on the receiver with HDMI and XM if at all possible. This is the first real HT setup I am building up.
Any input would be great. Thanks.

PS. My living area would be roughly about 20x18 or so.

Just ordered an Onkyo TX-SR605 myself. I believe it fits your criteria, I am getting it for $480 at b&h. Look it up and see if you like its features. I know a few friends who have it and swear by the sound quality.

Looked into this receiver, and seems to have great features. Reviews say that it gets really hot and the hdmi upconverting is a chellenge, and custmer service is rotten. There was a pioneed there that had all this features but was not hte elite addition. Some said to stay away form that unless it is the elite addition.

I believe those DefTech's are 8-Ohm and fairly efficient (90db+) so any Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo, or H/K receiver will do the trick. Whichever ones has a good price and all the features you want is the one to go with.

I on the Onkyo TX-SR605

So far I love it. The sound quality is wonderful. I never intended to use the video up conversion anyway. I dint mind running my cable/sat box to the TV as I do not always want the AVR on, don't need all that for my local news and This Old House . :) The Pioneer vsxd 1016 and the 1017 both have the elite amp section, the lesser ones do not. As for the heat, yea it does get a little hot. Mine is on an open top shelf so it can breath. I am going to make an investment in this product though it is a single fan (think that it is made my middle atlantic as I am new I cannot post links"?") I really have not heard enough about how good the Onkyo TX-SR605 sounds people seem to be hung up on the video portion not being that great. I also plan to get a HDMI switcher like that oppo they reviewed today.

anyway that is my 2 cents
