Home theatre setup with Yamaha HTR 6260 and Energy Take 5.1 - sub not firing

Hello all,

I'm hoping to tap into the collective wisdom of the users on this board to try figure out what I may be doing wrong. The story is - I recently purchased the HTR 6260 receiver to replace my Yamaha V495. While it has lots more bells and whistles, for some reason it does not activate my sub.

I play music and BluRay movies via my PS3 which connects to the receiver via HDMI cable. I've gone through the user manual several times, reset the receiver, checked my PS3 audio settings but still, the sub doesn't work. When I plugged the speakers to my V495, everything worked perfectly(including sub).

I'm at wits end and feel like I've run into a brick wall. Does anyone have experience with Yamaha receivers, or the HTR 6260 specifically? I will be eternally grateful for your help!

Regards,

Marvin

Speaker setup, pg 51

LFE/Bass Out = SWFR
All speakers = Small
Crossover Freq = 120 Hz

Run test tones/level (may have to increase for the sub to respond) to see if anything is getting to the sub.

Report back.

Hi AudioRat,

I've set the crossover to 120, and nothing still. I also ran the "test tone" on the AVR and its not activating the sub. All the other speakers are working though. Could it be a problem with the AVR?

I notice it has 2 sub outs (bottom right) have you tried both? Or did you by chance mistakenly connect it to the MCH Sub input?

The funny things is mine only has one out and yes, I did plug it into the "Ch Input" subwoofer port. I'm going to try it on the "Pre Out" and see if that was my mistake tonight. I'll let you know!
