I was thinking about buying a Yamaha RX V-3800 to upgrade my system but............I was wondering if it was feasible to buy a cheap receiver with the new "stuff" for the video and somehow wire in a couple of Yamaha M-8o`s to power the 5 speakers . Is that a good idea ? Is it even possible ? If it is , wouldn`t the sound be much better than the RX V 3800?

That receiver is plenty powerful, what speakers are you planning on connecting to this receiver? If you want to use a receiver as a pre/pro and add external amps, that is certianly possible. If you want upscaling abilities along with the latest decoders for audio, I would reccomend the Yamah RX-V863, otherwise I would go for the RX-V663. You can always get a HDMI switcher if you need more HDMI inputs than 2, since I know the RX-V3800 has 4. But that receiver should have enough power for normal use.

I will either connect my Energy Audessy A5+2`s (fronts),ac300center, rvss`s dipolar surrounds or I am going to buy and use Paradigm 90P`s for Fronts ,cc390 cener, 390 ADP`s rears and my room is 15x24 Ft. I have a xbox 360 HD-dvd player for movies and a 60" Mitsubishi HDTV.
