I am shopping for a new home theater reciever and am looking at the NAD
T 773 and the Sherwood Newcastle P 965, but only have respective dealers to talk to. Anyone have experience with both or have a suggestion? Both are about the same price.

Although I love older NAD stuff, they had some quality issues with the newer stuff. Not just internet trash talk either. Do some searching around on the net, you'll see what I mean. The Sherwood got a relativly positive review in Sound and Vision Magazine.

I personally don't have experice with either unit. However my local NAD dealer and I were discussing quality comparing NAD to Denon. He stated that NAD while better sounding has QC issues. That NAD was in the shop 2 to 1 compared to Denon.

If I were spending that kind of money, I'd expect more quality and less issues.
