There are two things that I would like to accomplish next for my HT;
1. Indirect lighting
2. Sound panels
I was thinking about taking out two birds with one stone. Here's my idea.
The 2x8 joists in the ceiling already have standard fiberglass insulation (quietzone pink) with 1x3 strapping on the bottom side. I was thinking about leaving it there, add/swap white insulation, put LED strip light (something like this
5 Meter 12V RGB LED Strip Light Non Waterproof 150 SMD) around the 'light' area on the inside of the 1x3 strapping and then covering with a translucent white cloth. Then drywalling the rest of the ceiling.
If it works it would provide a neat ambiance to the room. I would use standard pot lights for normal light, the strip light would be for 'easy use' only.
Would I have to use something else for sound absorption? Can I get cloth that will work well for sound and light? Am I crazy?
