Hello,

Remodeling my house. Want to buy in wall speakers for fronts and ceiling speakers for rears, for home theater/music system.

Was looking at Klipsch, B&W, Definitive Technology, Cinepro speakers or open to other choices.

Want to put together a 7.1 system. 4 fronts, Center, Rear Speakers.

Willing to spend 3,000 to 5,000 on speakers. If I can build a nice speaker system for 3K or less, even better :D

Living Room size is 20 feet x 20 feet. TV over Fireplace mantel, center speaker will sit below TV on mantel.

Currently own:
Yamaha RX-V2095 receiver
Velodyne Acoustics FSR-12 Subwoofer

Do I need another sub? One for front of room and one for back?

Thanks for your help,

I would recommend checking with a B&W dealer. IMO, your budget should get you home with a very nice system. B&W makes great in-walls, and their dealers are pretty anxious to move product. It's a good time to buy B&W.

Tell me what you know about Cinepro speakers? I've been running Cinepro gear for years. Looks like I am the only one on this forum. I always was an odd ball. It's a matter of fact that's all I've been using for the past 13 years except the Pre-Pro which is a rebadged Lexicon. I do hate to say this, but there is no in wall experience like this http://www.cinepro.com/AFM-IWS-LitSpecsPage1-2_082708z.pdf. All I had to say was holy s##t. It will peel the paint off the wall, that's for sure. My wife always says what is this white power on the plasma, it doesn't look like dust. At that price point I do think Cinepro is out.

How high is your ceiling? Are you going to use the other 2 fronts for the Presence/Height channels? If so, you may want to consider in-ceilings instead and move them out (toward the viewing area) and wider than the L/Rs (about 45 degrees from the viewing area) since the L/R are already going to be pretty high.

AVRat, My ceiling height is low, 8 foot.

Definitive Technology sales rep suggested this setup:

Front main in-wall speakers: DI 5.5LCR
Center speaker: Mythos Nine
Side surround in-wall speakers: DI 6.5S
Rear surround in-ceiling speakers: DI 6.5R

About $2,660 total retail

Using one Velodyne FSR-12 subwoofer should be sufficient to create a realistic amount of bass impact.
walter duque, I found a thread were you said you liked them so I sent Cinepro sales an email. One of the owners called me a few minutes after I sent the email and suggested I take some pictures of my room and send them to him and he would put something together for me in my price range. I love the Azz in the pic.lol It's to much for this house/room. It would be awesome.

zumbo, B&W site is down right now.

Maybe??
CWM663 Retail $750/pair Front wall
CWM664 Retail $550/pair Front Special effects
CCM663 Retail $700/pair Rear Ceiling
Center channel?

Thanks

Judging by what Walter says about Cinepro, and how your email was handled, I would go that route.

Another option...

B&W sales got back to me by email, this is what the sales guy suggested for my 3k to 5k price range. What you guys think?

CWM7.3 Front Speaker $1,500 pair retail
CCM662 Rear Surround $1,000 pair retail
CWM663 Front Special Effects $750 pair retail

$3,850.00 Total retail

Yamaha RX-V2095 receiver
Velodyne Acoustics FSR-12 Subwoofer

Thanks

These http://www.phasetech.com/ always impressed me for some reason. I would check them out if you can. Not to many members use these but they are worth a listening. As you can tell am a Cinepo fan. They are for people with certain needs and you would need some major power behind them. An AVR would not get it. Def -Tech might also be a good choice.

Hi,
Did you ever buy the CCM663 and use them for your surrounds?
