Bought a house that is wired with speakers in different room. My question is what type of reciver should I buy? i have been looking at units under 500.00, but am not shure of how much power i need to feed the speakers in the ceiling.

Any help would be great.

thx

That really depends on what speakers you have... what is their impedance? Chances are you will be ok with any decent reciever out there, so your receiver purchase should be based on what feature you want, not how much power you need for the in ceiling speakers.

It's not quite as simple as that.

As was stated earlier, a lot has to do with what speakers and their impedance, but also how many you have.

Also, how many pairs will you be running simultaneously, how loud do you expext them to play, do they have impedance matchng level controls on each speaker, etc, etc...

I would reccomend the RX-V663 by Yamaha, it's 7.2 and has the capability to assign the amps to another zone, so you can have 5.1 or 5.2 in the main room, and still have stereo sound in another room.
