That's awesome Steve. I'm just calling out the pitfalls I've seen people have over the years and if you have already taken care of them, then you are one up on the vast majority. Good work on that!

Thanks. I'm really old, old school! Did my first recording session on an Ampex 1/2" 300 4-track (tube) with a tube console with rotary faders. Stuff would be worth a fortune today, along with the u47 and u67 tube mics.

Crimping your own cables is the right way to go, but I would NOT call it the easy or fast (unless you've already done it 100 times)
Maybe fast wasn't the best choice. When I first learned I spent a couple hours making up 3' cables till I had a system down. Now it's second nature . For rg6 and 59 bnc, rca, etc. that is fast and easy. The key for me was having the best crimp and strip tools.

But your absolutely correct on the learning curve for network cable.:)

For HD video baluns, don't skimp. Long runs typically require active for anything current.
