Are these available?
Greatly appreciated
No one publishes service manuals for anything anymore, claiming it is all proprietary.

However, the bigger issue is that current modern gear is unfixable. That is because the components are surface mounted by robot, using hot air soldering. Basically the rule these days is that if it fails out of warranty you chuck it.

I tried to fix a sound bar for a friend, and I think I could have repaired it may be. The part I needed was nowhere in the US. A site in China said they had it. Of course they lied, and what they sent was the wrong component. So off to the recycling center with that one.

Anyhow, what is the exact problem with your soundbar?

Is there anything worth fixing anymore I’d think unless it’s still under warranty no??
Say a $1000 avr breaks it’s still cheaper to replace?? Same with these bars ?? I’d go passive for speakers, some are worth fixing?!!

That was a piece of luck. Let us know how it all works out. On the unit I took apart there were multiple boards. Are you sure yours only has one?

I have found out that it has at least three boards. The other issue is that so often this modern equipment has to have boards initialized with proprietary codes to work after installation. Anyhow good luck and let us know the result.

Hello fellow audioholics, sound bar repair update. the first replacement mb had a broken ribbon cable retainer clip and bent pins. the seller sent another board and sadly the sound bar is showing no signs of life. I checked for proper voltage to the new mb, but that's all i can decipher. I disconnected all tertiary boards one by one trying to eliminate any chance of a downline short, no luck.
I did find a copy of the manual (thanks for the hint), but see no fuses or way to jumpstart the new board back to life. Any techs out there your expertise would be appreciated.

I am putting together a dim bulb and will try to measure residual power drain, should be below .5ma?

thanks,

This gear is not designed to be repaired, and that is by intent. That is the wasteful way of the modern world. That unit will add to the world wide electronic junk pile. Yes, it is a disgrace, and better design and auto diagnostics could improve the situation immensely. Gotta keep Target and Best Buy in business though. They are all invested in this awful system. Buy as much good vintage gear as you can, but that won't help you with a sound bar, or equipment designed for the current digital age.

Yeah moden gear is throw away , sadly cheaper to replace then repair with the exception of maybe higher end speakers/subs which I cannot afford. I nearly threw out a Yamaha avr when a speaker tripped it to protect mode . Eventually I got it working again but the bass seems thin without a sub , and the ypao mic is missing .. presumed tossed out to got ruined. Left it downstairs not smart of me. Also had a pc sub and speakers gone missing a jamos sat , few random bookshelfs like someone helped themselves with that stuff . Tossed random stuff as if it was clutter all my receiver fm/am antenna also gone. Prob nothing very valuable. I’m hesitant to buy anything used as an rca sub I got ended up broken rather quickly. Then panny plasma also only lasted a year or two barely got any usage.
