HK DPR 2005 experience?

Has anybody had any first hand experience with the HK DPR 2005 Receiver? I've been looking online for information about it in terms of what people have experienced and have not found anything significant. I'm looking more for the quality of sound than the quantity. That doesn't mean that I don't want a powerful receiver. It just means that it is not my primary concern. I would much rather have a receiver that puts out very good sound. I am assembling a 5.1 theater system and was practically settled on the Yamaha 1500 when I saw the HK 1005 and then saw the HK 2005. The Yamaha would certainly be a lot easier on the wallet and I'm fairly certain that it would sound pretty good, but I do like the fact that the HK keeps everything in the digital domain and manages its power much more efficiently. I just don't have first hand experience listening to it and even Tweeter does not provide any way to listen to it in the store. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :D

I was about to buy the 1005 but i felt i could get more for the same price. All i could say its pretty good not much help lol. the 2005 looks awesome at 120 watts. It is very effiecent i think it is like 90% effiecient or more. While everything is digital at one point it needs to be analog fot the speakers. never the less i dont think alot of people are into the digital amps i was reading forums how class a or b amps are better blah blah.

I know I might be harping on this a little, but it is difficult to find actual users of this amplifier. My wife certainly appreciates the looks of it and likes the fact that it isn't huge. However, do you think that the sound is very good? I like the fact that HK has good customer service and their products are of high quality. I think that their amplifiers also have very high current even though on paper their watts seem lower (kind of like the torque vs hp arguments in cars). Did you have any problems with the connections? How was the bass coming out of it? Any settings/recommendations that you can make for this product? That would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, I think that digital amps have not quite caught on yet, though, as you mentioned, one of their primary advantages is efficiency. Also, the audio/video information stays in the digital realm until it is output to the sources, something that definitely cuts down on noise. I think the major drawback is that THD is about twice as much (0.15% vs 0.07%) as comparable analog sources, though I don't know how much of that you would be able to hear in a real setting.
I do like the fact that heat issues are less of a concern and that it takes up less real-estate than other similarly powered receivers. I'll probably look at getting the 2005 anyway because I like HK products and I want something that will last me for years to come. I just wish I could find somebody with first-hand experience with it.
