Will this model let you connect to my psb subsonic 6i's low line level conection using the pre out jacks or am I stuck using the single LFE out jack?If yes, when hooking up L/R from pre outs to sub, what jacks do I use coming back from sub.

The answer is yes (I believe). But you would be forced to set your L&R mains to Large in order to turn off the Sub in the Speaker Set Up which is required to send the .1 LFE to your mains. Then the L&R pre-outs have a full signal and .1 LFE which you send to the sub (which you would set to Normal to enable the X-over). I don't think that's a good idea.

I think you're better off running your mains at small, crossed over at 80Hz, sub set to On in Speaker Set Up and the sub's cross over set to LFE which disables it and allows the rec'r to take care of the cross and it allows the full .1 LFE signal and <80Hz signals to get to the sub. Hope that helps. :)

At least that's what I do based on what I have learned around here. I have the H/K AVR 430.
Also, should you do what you have proposed, there would be no need/way to go back to the rec'r. I looked but couldn't find a lot/any info on how your sub gets hooked up so maybe there is something I am missing.

Edit: I am assuming that your speakers will do 80Hz with no problems.

I have psb 6t's for fronts and 9c for center.
http://www.psbspeakers.com/Images/manuals/subwoofers/ss6-5-0i-2003.pdf "Page 17"
PSB manual said this was the best way to hook it up,page 16 is how I have it hooked up now.
Using the on screen menu by hooking up to"monitor out"jack on rear panel,to the t.v and pressing the osd button on remote, mains set to Large,60hrz right now,sub set to L/R+LFE.Just started playing around with the recievers settings today. All this setting up stuff is starting to confuse me.

The H/K AVR 630 is not like what is pictured on pg. 17.
It is like what is pictured on pg. 16 so to me it seems that you are fine.
I think you are suppose to have your LFE/Crossover bypass on your sub set to active.

Ahhhh, you edited .... okay, the above stands. Now in your OSD > Speaker Set UP there are 3 things to do:

1. Set all the speakers to Small.
2. Set all Crossovers to 80Hz providing your speakers are capable of that.
3. Set Subwoofer to Sub

It wasn't long ago that I was new to my AVR 430 which is very similar to yours. Some fellas here helped me out and I'd like to do the same for you. First thing I want to tell you is that it might not all come together for you all at once. Second thing is to slow down and give the manual a chance to sink in. It is all in there (for the most part) and there are plenty of people around here to help for when you can't get your mind around something.

Enjoy yourself. It's gonna sound real nice. :)

No sweat. You're not the first person that has happened to and it's probably not the last time it's gonna happen to you. ;)

I will take this opportunity to point out to you that the EZ-Set feature H/K offers is pretty wide ranging in what they consider level matched. 67dB-72dB I think. That's not gonna get you even close to making that system sound as nice as it can. When the time comes your new best friend might be this guy:
