I am currently looking to start putting together a HT system and I have decided to start off with a receiver. As it seems there are many people here with vast knowledge on in this area I am asking for advice. I recently bought a HK DPR 2005 but had to return it, after reading some posts I have decided not to exchange it right away and do some more research. With shipping I paid a total of 765 for the unit and I am currently still looking in that range. The system will be used a good amount for music and movies probably about 50/50. Originally I liked the dpr 2005 because of new tech and size, but now I am not sure of the unit the HK AVR 635 is also appealing to me. I am not partial to HK, thought I think they have a very clean look to them, so advice on any receivers around the $800 dollar mark would be appreciated. Also, I have heard good things about video upconvert but I am still not sure exactly how it works.
