i was driving around the other day and spotted a stereo shop- had to have a peek
They were a Focal dealer and since I've been wanting to hear the Focals, I chatted the sales guy up and before you know it I'm cranking a pair of 1008be's up to some Vivaldi!
Very nice, but I had to move the volume up quite a bit to appreciate them.
No sub, smallish room, plenty of amp ( big Anthem) not blown away though .
They threw me a price on the floor models with stands- 4K. Not bad but for the same dinero,I could pick up the close out Pioneer s-2 ex's which are definitely full rangers ( I've heard them in a larger room).
Another fairly high dollar option is the RBH sx61r less than 2k and there's a pair on a-gon right now that are prototypes with the BE midwoofs
and a few other goodies for?$ at 925.00 right now with reserve not met yet. Not sure whether its worth taking a chance on.

Anyhow, I'm going to stop in the local B&W shop to have listen to the 805Ds and hopefully the PM-1's on Monday if not sooner.
Man,This is getting outa hand! I'm actually considering shelling this kind of cash on speakers
