High end speaker cable

I recently did an A/B blind test with a guy who owns some very expensive speakers and cables that cost more than my entire L/C/R setup and he wouldn’t actually hear a difference. It blows me away that people actually type this

Now I own a pair of OM-10’s. They sound great to me but in no way shape or form have I ever heard their bass increase by changing cables. I’m curious of your guy’s experience with salesman pitching this idea or people swearing by $500+ cables. I just purchased a pair of Klipsch RP3’s for $25 and got a free pair of 10ft Kimber Kable biwire cables. While they look really cool all braided and what not, they don’t sound ANY different from my Knu Konceptz 12 AWG cable, they retailed for over $500+ back in the day. It really seems like there’s a massive market of snake oil and those who are willing to believe it.

A good quality OFC cable of appropriate sizing will have no audible difference. Monoprice, Amazon and many others have what is actually needed. Some others like BlueJean cables can dress it up for you and cost a whole lot less than brands like Audio Quest.

I make my own when possible, if it is visible and I want a different look other than bare wire lying across the floor.

High end refers to price in wire for the most part, not performance. Expensive can be "pretty" but you can make your own pretty cables easily, too.

So did your friend acknowledge the results of the test or does he still swear by the silly wire thing?

Man, I read this all the time, I posted up what my gear was on a forum, bunch of aholes jumped me saying, can you "Imagine" key word here. How much better my speakers and gear would sound if I spent more than 200 bucks on better high end cables and speaker cables. More than Likely that dude "TED" who's been Harassing and trying to bully Gene about his BS snake oil cables was on that site or some of his paid Cult followers cause that's Exactly what they are.
Exactly which site because it was over a year or two ago umm AVS? or Audio something . I'd say there is a High Probability that some of those snake oil BS sales peeps hangout on All audio/video forums even AH. Just use Commonsense man. Remember that key word "Imagine" yeah they sat around a table with a few of their Con artists aholes going, can you guys Imagine all the money we're gonna make with this Con.

That's the thing about Snake oil Products,
they will use real speaker wire AWG pure copper and all that goes with it. It's all in the Fancy packaging, the "Con". I had some of those Knu' cables 10 gage wire good wire paid about .99 cents a foot. got like umm 90f of it. Why did I want that think of a gauge wire? When it wouldn't made a Difference in sound quality? cause it was a nice looking cable of good Quality wire and durable. Had a "Cool" Factor look to them other than that a good AWG 12 gage would do the job for 30 bucks. I don't use Banana plugs, wire cut,
1/2 " right into the wire bolts. cable's maybe 75 buck HDMIs, Optical cable one, one 15ft sub cable thats it. Got all my cable's from Mediabridge I still have my cable interconnects 5 of them from Monoprice think I paid like 50 bucks for those 6ft cable's. Sure you can spend more on cable's the Fancy braided ones are gonna cost more. They may last loner, but no way in hell will they make my speakers more Chocolatey sounding. I couldn't stand in a room with one of them snake oil sales cable guys, I'd let him finish talking his BS than I'd hit him with a Stun gun drop it like a mic and walk off.

You don't have be a snake oil selling cable guy. You can still get a bunch of old farts sitting around a table. Just gotta watchout if they are wearing Old Spice cologne or body spray. Just used Old Spice products as an Example. Get it? Old Spice, Old Farts.

On AH, some of the older members get all bent out of Shape if anyone postup up half Truths. lol I know I use that a lot, On purpose just to start dumpster fires. It get boring real fast reading postups all the time. Throw a lil spec out of place or use bottom feeder or just call gear a audiophile and sit back and watch the fires start up! be like: MODs jumping in post getting reported peeps get put in lockdown for a week.
