I appreciate the collection, it's cool, but a million bucks, yeah right! Even new in box (and not all are!) those things aren't worth THAT much money. I'd be shocked if it all went for even $100,000. They are plastic toys and a million were made! It's not like it's original one of a kind fine art, even then, one million bucks? That auction lady can keep dreaming!

I was watching this History Channel program the other day on Christy's auction of Paramount's Star Trek stage props and models. The Enterprise model (the one in The Next Generation) sold for over $500k!

I am willing to bet it was one of the Google founders who snatched it up...

I am willing to bet it was one of the Google founders who snatched it up...

I saw that show.
Amazing all the props they auctioned off. And, all the props that didn't make the cut.
But, Star Trek has a 40 year history, 2 generations grew up on it. That prop was in a movie, not a small toy in a box

That Enterprise D model was BIG. I think you'll probably need a medium sized UHAUL to transport it.

Many of the other ship models also sold for well over $100K. I had my eyes on that Romulan Warbird (always loved that cool green color) and one of the Klingon Birds of Prey. Oh well, didn't have the dough anyways...

While on the topic of Transformers, does anyone know when will Rhino release the complete Transformers Generation 1 boxset again?

I didn't pick them up when they were released, and now they are discontinued. Last I heard Rhino was having some copyright issues with the Generation 1 boxset, so they aren't planning to re-release it again anytime soon.

Man, after seeing the new Transformers movie, I just want to watch those generation 1 episodes all over again.
