No, the M22 does not sound the same.

What exactly is your budget and what are you trying to achieve? Music, movies, both?

Listen to everything in your range but concentrate on music when auditioning.

Almost everything sounds good on movies but it doesn't work the other way around.

You might look for a NHT dealer and go listen to the Classic 3 a listen ($399 at Audioadvisor.com). Also a B&W dealer, give the 600 series a listen. These are both likely a bit brighter than the Viennas, but they might work for you.

Online, the AV123 Ref .5 might fit the bill too. Plus they have the risk free trial with them.

Av123

The AV123 X-series has a couple models of inexpensive floorstanders, the X-sls and X-mtm. In the real wood veneer they will probably look as good as Vienna Acoustics but probably wont sound quite as good.

I have the higher end Onix Reference 1's. The look and sound great and sell for about $500/pair used. Audioholics is also working on a higher end bookshelf shootout including Ascend, RBH, and others.
