This sounds like the place for help...
My Yamaha RX-V2600 sound started cutting out, it just goes quiet. Sometimes for a couple seconds, sometimes for many minuets! This happens on all the sources I use (tuner and dvd).
Sometimes it will go through a movie without doing it, but more often it does happen a lot.

It was perfect until we moved & it sat for more than a year.
Should I dump it or is there something I can mend it?
Any & All help with this issue is greatly appreciated!

Unplug your speakers and to see if a short has been causing it. I shorted my 2600 out pretty bad recently. It turned off after 3 or 4 seconds. That's what makes me mention the speaker wires being shorted out.

+1 ... Check for shorts on your speaker conection by disconnecting them and reconnecting them on both the AVR and speaker terminals. Once your sure there are no more shorts and it happens again, I suspect that the AVR is on its way out.

Thanks for your help on this problem. The speaker wires had no effect. Now when the unit is turned on there are 2 clicks then nothing. Everything seems to work except there's no sound. I'm thinking,... relay?

Does anybody know how many (relay) clicks are normal after powering on the RX-V2600 receiver?
I'm hearing 1 as soon as the power button is hit, then a couple seconds later 2 louder clicks,... then no sound:confused:
