Oh ok, Geuss thats why it was so hard tryin to figure out the right box and specs on it...

looks like i need to order about 4 more of these then
No you do not understand.

Ordering four more of those drivers will not get you any further.

All it will do is make it play a little louder, but not deeper. You can not make a sub from that driver however many you order.

For a sub you need a driver with an Fs of around 20 Hz, not 70 Hz.

You need a high xmax, preferably in excess of 20 mm.

If you want a ported sub, you need a Qts around 0.3 to 0.4. Around 0.35 is usually the sweet spot.

For sealed you need a Qts of 0.4 or over for best results.

Sub driver are expensive, and a good sub can not be built on the cheap.

If you are looking on parts Express you need to look under subwoofer drivers. Have a look at some of the Dayton drivers.

JL audio have a driver that is 8" and makes a decent sub, but it is expensive. However generally sub drivers need to be between 10" and 18"in diameter.

You have a lot to learn and a lot of research to do, before you are ready to build a sub.

I know nothing of horn design, but that's the only feasible way to make subs out of small drivers. There are drivers suitable for this, but horns are large builds. For example the Exodus Anarchy is fantastic in a tapped horn design.

What's your budget and we can recommend a good driver. Even the Dayton SD's would be a decent design.

Horns need a low Qts, low Fs driver to make a horn sub.

I would never recommend a horn build for a novice.

Nor would I. I think a TC Epic 12" would fill the bill if the budget permits.

I was wanting to upgrade the sub first but o well no harm done.

i know subs can get pricey but i wasnt wanting to spend much over 30 or 40$ for the speaker

I thought you might have intended that.

However I see a couple of problems. Those drivers are discontinued stock and no longer produced by Peerless India. So if a driver develops a problem you are out of luck and have to start over from scratch.

Next there is no published acoustic data for those drivers, so comprehensive measurements would have to be taken to choose a suitable tweeter and design a crossover.

Designing and building speakers is a complex task. Peerless India is not a reliable source of consistent drivers, and in my view not worth going to the trouble of designing and building speakers round them.

If your funds are that tight for, the sub driver take a look at the Dayton DS 12". I think it is around $60, which is as low as you want to go.

What are you planning on powering your sub with/

I general DIY does not save much or any, but if you are careful and conscientious you get a better quality product.

However if it is basement budget you want DIY is not the way to go, you are better off buying jink already put together.

It is just too much effort to put a lot of hard work and have compromised junk at the end of your endeavors.

I would say this sub driver, would be well worth the slight extra cost.
this was my other choice, but I didn't mentioned it due to OP's budget, but you are 100% right - the small increase in price will bring significant improvement in final product.

tight budgets and audio don't mix. Get your finances in order before you take on a project like this. There are far more important things in life than Audio. I love Audio, but when my budget got tight my projects were put on hold.
