yep it the av receiver def know a sub is present, well in the settings anyways, doesn't find it in the callibration though.
As in it stops and tries to ping the sub during the process? In speaker management sub is set to yes/on specifically?

Holy balls mate! You guys get totally ripped on subs down there. I just went shopping a little bit. Wow. Just wow…
I know you aren’t looking at this price range. But the SVS pb16 ultra is 5225aud. That’s more than double!!! Of course I don’t know the exchange rate. But still…wow.

Did you try William's suggestion of unplugging the RCA cable from the AVR and tapping the plug end centre pin with your finger? If the sub amp is working you should hear a light buzz when you touch the pin. You can also connect a 1/8" to RCA adapter cable to a mobile phone headphone jack to play music directly on the sub, but since it's a full range signal and the sub has a low pass filter, pick some music which you know has deep bass, like modern electronic music. If those tests fail then the plate amp has likely failed.

Seriously, I have no life.
HI, yep tried the cone check with the finger and get nothing. With the gain do you mean Volume? Ive turned up the volume to 3/4 and turned up the frequency on the sub to 150, thats as far as it goes.
The cable is brand spanking new, so shouldnt be an issue, but will try my old red white cable that worked before just to make sure. ill be back in touch soon. cheers for responding.
Open that sub up. I have a strong feeling that the wires have come off the speaker or corroded over time. Check the connections at the woofer end and at the amp end.

Usually when these amps fail the whole thing is shot. It is not uncommon for those spades to come off or corrode.
