Hello,
I own a Pioneer VSX-816 receiver and recently just bought a center channel to match my front speakers. The speakers I have are the Klipsch RF-62 Home Theater System. I'm using banana plugs on both ends, bi-amping the front left and right. Well, since I bought the center channel, it has been cutting out.
I figured the problem was with the receiver since I switched cables from the front left to the center channel to make sure it wasn't a bad cable. Also, I moved the front left speaker to the center channel output and it cut out as well. So I brought the receiver to the local repair place. They "can't find a thing wrong with it." They tested it for a week and found no problems. Also, they're the only authorized repair place in the area so I don't have the option of bringing it somewhere else as well.
So with all that said, does anyone have any suggestions on anything else I could try to pinpoint the problem and perhaps fix it myself? I'm just drawing a blank on what else to try or what the problem might be. Any info is appreciated.
Thanks,
RS

Watch the receiver display to make sure that the dolby digital or DTS feed is not dropping out when you lose the center channel. If the center channel drops out on DVD playback but not on 7-channel stereo mode playing the tuner, than maybe it is a problem with a source component or cable. If the repair center cannot resolve the issue, follow up with Pioneer for a replacement or upgrade to a new receiver.
