In terms of subs I would go with two for your room size. I have the exact opposite problem not enough room for two. I recently got a sealed HSU sub and could't be happier with it. Talk about an amazing upgrade. I could be wrong but with SVS I feel like your paying more for the bells and whistles.

See the thread i posted a while back about subs: pretty much had the same question.

Well to your last question, yes subwoofer placement makes a difference. It’s actually the biggest influence on its performance.
My personal opinion is that for a room like that, get the single best sub that you can afford, and immediately budget for a second one. Obviously there’s a lot of gray area here. In that case, a pb16 in the corner is where I would go. That is however, my personal opinion and there are definitely advocates of near field placement which can have advantages but a lot of rooms don’t allow for it. Ideally you would have your LP away from the wall for better/smoother bass response overall, and this would also allow room behind the couch to place a pair of sb2k’s. Depending on what your performance goals are vs waf vs aesthetics etc, that might be the way to go.
Personally, if it were my space and had the budget, I’d go for the 16. To me it’s performance will be better than pair of sb2k. It has dsp, better extension, output and a sweet app to help integrate it. Other options would be 1 or 2 Rythmik fv15hp’s or HSU mk2’s.

Well I finally understand what you mean by sub . I received the SB2000 but still waiting on the rest of above mentioned Speakers
I took the SVS out to my garage system which consists of a onkyo TX-SR373 receiver with a pair of R15 monitors ,250 CA center and a Klipsch r129w ,12” sub.
I was not impressed at all. Going from a ported 12” to a sealed 12 I almost thought the SVS wasn’t working comparing it to the garage sub.
I have some decisions to make as the incoming speakers will be three times what I have now and i don’t like the performance of SVS in me Garage..
I’m leaning towards the rhythmic R15’s ..
I really want to use only one sub just not sure I want to drop 2500 to do it ..

Seems like you're faulting the brand when it's the design type that's wrong for the place it's being used. You replace a ported 12" with a sealed 12" and expected something it can't do?

Back in the day, it was not uncommon to stow larger speakers and wheel them out for entertainment, even if that meant for days at a time. That way, all one has to do is stash the cables.

If I was in the situation to where I could not meet the (First, I'd send her off to her mother's) dreaded "WAF" or décor theme, I would build cabs with half blind tilt-a-wheels in the rear of the cabinets and handles that popped up like wheeled luggage and just wheel them in and out as needed.

This was done with home movie equipment and such when I was a boy. Half of my uncle's furniture was speakers and you could not tell it, otherwise.

I didn’t aim to knock the SVS and you are correct

I plan to use sub as a side table if Equipment calls for it.

Yeah, the garage is a tough place for a sub. Lots of airspace. Too much for a little sealed one anyway.
I have experience with the sb2k, and for its size, it’s a great subwoofer. It just doesn’t have a lot of output. IMO, it’s design goal is to be used in a small room, as a pair, or a music only sub, despite its 17hz extension. A bedroom or den would be ideal.
Agreed, 2500(your number) is a considerable pill to swallow for a single component, but like any “system”, it’s only as strong as its weakest link, and spending money on subwoofage is normally one of the best places you’ll see results.
When we build cars, we say “how fast do you want to spend?” It’s the same for subs. “How low/loud do you want to spend?”
I think in the interest of bang for your buck, without splitting hairs on the bottom end, HSU will offer you the most performance/options/value, although my personal shopping trip would start at Rythmik. Fwiw, pretty much all the ID companies have reputable CS and a phone call or email with your situation should be easily handled. Nice room btw!

Thanks and have emails out to both right now. This is all new to me but the comparison you made with cars makes sense. I don’t mind dropping 9k on a set of Forged wheels for one of my vehicle or 3k in carbon fiber... haha
It’s Time to take this as seriously as I do my toys!

Wow, 9k on wheels! Time for pics man...
I don’t usually like car analogies applied to audio, but sometimes in a global way they can be appropriate. I guess the thing is, up to a point you get what you pay for. Diy is another option, but sometimes it’s nice just buying a known quantity.(quality too?)

Rhythmik is telling me to go with
E15HP2 . Start with one and add another later if needed ? Or should I go with a SVS ultra 16 or outlet deal on Pb13.. damn this is driving me nuts .

For reference my daily driver is pickup truck, I had Avant Garde draw me up a custom one off build in brushed and polished centers and liquid black outers..

Another question I failed to ask was with proper reciever.
The Marantz 7011 is what’s going to be used but I’m open for suggestions and mainly used for streaming music and day to Day television?

That’s an interesting recommendation. I thought for sure they would say ported. I would not buy sealed. Especially for a room that size, and I presume on concrete. For SVS, of the two you said, I’d probably split the difference with a 4000 series. In my mind it’s better money than the older 13 which is good, but...⚖
The cylinders are also really nice for saving floor space but are taller than boxes. 2/3 of mine are pc’s. I like the form a lot.

Btw, I think those wheels would look much nicer on a Silverado!!!

I’m a very much all in guy and felt want to regret buying a bigger sub to start with as I know if it doesn’t blow me away I will order something else .. I will look up those two brands and thanks
