Help with Pioneer Elite 74

I sent my receiver at the end of April to a local shop in Houston for a firmware update. The local shop doing the update called to inform me that that my receiver had died after they did the update. Pioneer provided a replacement mother board under warranty and the local shop installed the component and told me the receiver was working. I got the receiver back after about one month in the shop. Prior to taking the receiver in for the firmware update, I was not having any problems with the thing at all. Everything seemed to work as it was supposed to except the HDMI output was not as good as the component output. The firmware update was supposed to fix this issue.

Anyway, I re-installed all the cables this morning and turned the receiver on only to hear a pretty loud buz comming out of all the speakers except the sub. I never had this issue before. Any ideas what could be causing this? I don't think its a ground loop since I've never experienced this issue in the past year that I've had my current set-up.

Next issue, I went to play a dvd in my sony hdmi dvd player (House of Flying Daggers). It started up just fine and then started cutting out (the receiver was shutting down and restarting). The dvd continued to play because when the receiver re-started the dvd was playing where it would have been had the receiver not shut down, so the problem is not coming from the dvd player.

Any suggestions?
