Help! with one pair of speakers from multiple amps

OK, here is what I am trying to acheive:

I have one pair of speakers that I want to use for both rear surround sound AND (single source) whole house audio. The sound is coming from 2 seperate amplifiers (stereo and 5.1). What is the best way to accomplish this WITHOUT having to switch anything manually? Is there some sort of "check valve" that can be soldered on to allow only one-way flow of the signal? Or, is there a seperate component that can sense when signal is coming in and switch to the right output automatically?

Not sure if either of the above are the way to go, but I would love feedback on how to accomplish this! Thanks.

I've never seen anything that can do it without switching something. You MUST have a swtich of some kind to prevent damage from having both amplifiers on at the same time.

A/B speaker switch

A manual A/B spekaer switch would work.
Also, you might be able to connect the speakers to the SPEAKER B jacks on the receiver to provide the speaker selection function. In this case, you should run SPEAKER A OR B and not A AND B.

I think someone else had brought up this same situation one before. Someone had mentioned a switch that had was automated when it detected signal, though i do not know how it opperates if both amps are on(maybe one is set to be the default) Try searching.

Wait... I tryed google and found this

I think this could be what your looking for, But there are probably many other products out there.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for.
Also Sonance makes one that is 100% automatic. I don't think it is their ASAP1 but it is similar. You connect the priority speaker level signal to input 'A' and the secondary to input 'B' and when 'A' isn't on, 'B' is automatically used.

I have set these up within a Crestron environment several times.
