I have tried with no avail to hookup my DVR player, TV and DirectTV box so I can record off of my TV. I have gone to website for my DVR Player, Panasonic, to DirectTV, and also there help lines and still am unable to record.

I have the coaxial cable coming out of the Cable Box into the DVR player, then going to the TV, just like with old VCR's no luck. I have also tried by using the AV Out cables from the Cable box into the AV in to the DVR with no luck.

What am I doing wrong, thanks

Hello and welcome. A couple of questions first.

1. What is the DVR player you are refering to? Is it hard disk based? A tivo? What outputs and inputs does it have?
2. What kind of outputs/inputs does it have?
3. What kind of outputs/inputs does your DTV box have?
4. What kind of outputs/inputs does your TV have?

If you can provide this, especially outputs and inputs of each device, I am sure myself or someone smarter can try and help you out.

I hope this can help you or someone.
It is a combination VCR/DVD player that also records DVD, brand is Panasonic, with s-video, and 3 plug input and output connections
The Digital TV box has a S-video, a cable connection, and one 3 plug (yellow, white, red) output
The TV has a cable connection, and one set of 3 plug input.

I hope this helps, THANKS

Is it the DMR series?

If so, then you need to use an RCA connection (Yellow, red, white plugs) between the TV and the recorder. That should do the trick. Here's a picture I found on Panasonic's website- ignore the part about the VCR.
