We're doing a major home remodel, and the wife has vetoed speakers (even bookshelf speakers!) in the kitchen (20' x 12' when completed). She wants ceiling mount speakers -- I've persuaded her to consider high wall/ceiling mount as an alternative.
I've got a Music Fidelity amp that currently powers paradigm atoms and a hsu sub in the living room and listen mostly to digital files, rhapsody and internet radio over a sonos system (I've ripped lots of FLAC). I'm planning to add another sonos for the kitchen and power with the same amp. I was hoping to spend less than $800 for sound to the kitchen.
Thoughts on speaker recommendations? I'm trying to get my brain around whether to go in-ceiling or attached at corner of wall/ceiling, and whether to bother with a sub (could go in a lower cabinet if necesssary). We'll listen to classical, jazz and vocals mostly, with a lot of radio.
Many thanks in advance.
