Help with DIYSG 1099's?

I have had the DIYSG 1099's for about 4 years. How long before the drivers go bad in these? I play them on the loud side especially for movies. If I bought some 1099 backup speakers and midranges and tweeters would they go bad eventually in the box? I am not sure if the new 10" woofer will even fit in my flatpack enclosure. What should I do? Build 2 new flatpacks? And would the crossover go bad as well that are in my 1099's now?

Take measurements periodically and see if you notice a decline? Might not be able to count on your ears...."on the loud side" for you is somewhat frightening, tho :) Thought you had already sold them, tho....or was that just the center? Maybe ask the speaker designer what he thinks, tho.

Just sold the center. I talked to DIYSG and they said they should last 15 years.
