I am looking for a component rack to house all my stuff (well most of it). The 2 power amplifiers are the real problem the 5-ch weighs 75 lbs and the 2-ch weighs 84 lbs. Does anyone have any thoughts on a good quality product that can handle the weight? Also the CD changer is deep, 21-1/2”. Any thoughts on DIY project?

LIST of STUFF;
AVR - Sony STR-DA333ES
Stereo Amp – Rotel RB-1090 (Main Speakers)
Multi Channel Amp – Rotel RMB-1095 (Surround Speakers)
DVD Player – Sony DVP-NS999ES
CD Changer – Sony DVP-CX777ES
VCR – Sony SLV-677HF
Game – MS XBOX 360

Thanks for your help!

Check out the flexy racks from TNT audio. www.tntaudio.com They are inexpensive, easy to build, rigid and quite stable. I'm using a dual flexy like the one pictured on the site. I have made only one change. I use 2 allthread rods in the middle and 1 on each end. This way I use 4 pieces of allthread instead of 5 and save $3. I had the lumber yard cut a 4' x 8' sheet of 3/4" MDF into 12 18" x 24" pieces. You can make the shelves any size you want.:cool:

Since all my equipment is located in a closet, I used an industrial chrome wire shelving unit. The shelves are 24" deep, adjustable and can hold far more weight than I'll ever put on them. Best part is the unit is on casters so I can roll it out to work on things. I actually assembled all of the equipment on the rack before rolling it in for final connections. The other nice thing is cable routing is easy since they can run through the shelves and be tied to them with tie-wraps.
