Hello guys!

I need your help to choose what HT I buy... First, I thought to get this infinity, but the seller told me that a Polk would have a better quality. I can't measure prices with you because I live in Brazil, so, here is very expensive. I can tell that both costs the same, about $3400 dollars.

My use will be above all for movies, a little bit of music too. My room is about 20ft x 17ft. And the receiver, what u guys think? Yamaha RX-V677, Denon X2000...

Receiver Yamaha RX-V677 or Denon X2000
Polk Audio TSx150C
Polk Audio TSx330T (pair)
Polk Audio TSx110B (pair)
Subwoofer Infinity PS312

or

Receiver Yamaha RX-V677 or Denon X2000
Infinity PC351
Infinity P363 (pair)
Infinity P163 (pair)
Subwoofer Infinity PS312

Thanks for the help!

That's $3400 U.S.? Wow. I think you can do better. Even if it costs you $2000 in shipping, you ought to be able to order directly from the U.S and beat that. There's a service recommended by Aperion Audio called MyUS.com for international shipping that lets you have things sent to a U.S. address, then the shipper sends everything to Brazil or wherever in one shipment. Using that, you could order a much more worthwhile system and still pay much less I think.

Home Theater Direct Level Two -- two towers, two dipole surrounds and a center = $807
Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX -- $649
Denon AVR-X2000 -- $330

Just guessing at package dimensions of 40"x40"x40" and a weight of 150lbs, shipping cost is estimated around $1700, still well under what you're about to pay locally and with a profoundly better system I think.

Shipping anything international can be tricky. Typically you want to fill a portion of a container, if that can't be done air freight is expensive when packaged correctly. If it isn't damage rate is about 50%. Buying electronics in south America is quite expensive relative to in the US.

That's the thing. If I have all that money by upfront I could buy in Paraguay, that have the SAME price that USA. But I'll pay in CC and ten times :D

And like crossedover said, it's difficult to do that.

That is the price that I have to pay in Brazil in a good store with warranty. Sad, yes, but better this than nothing :(

So, do you prefer the Infinity or Polk? Perhaps another brand? but at the same budget. Thanks!

Infinity, by a long shot.

Do you have access to the Pioneers designed by Andrew Jones? That is another good budget option.

Hello, thanks for answering. Wow, so infinity is better... I didn't expect that haha :D

What model of those pioneers you have in mind that is better than the infinity and in the budget? thanks again

So, this package (Pioneer SP-PK52FS) is better than the infinity?

"Better" is gonna be subjective. They certainly compete and are in a similar price range.

Read these and decide for yourself (or better yet, go listen and decide)

Hello, thanks. I read, but I confess that I'm even more confused :p

I can't reach a verdict on what will fit better in my conditions. I have a large room, the Infinity seems to have more "power".

Can you get the Pio in your area? Which is cheaper?

There are several members on this site that prefer the Infinity, and just as many that prefer the Pioneers.

The best option is to go and listen for yourself and decide. If you can't do that, then perhaps just go with the cheaper option.

Or, order a pair of the bookshelf Pios and another pair of Infiniti. Listen to those as 2 channel and then make your decision based on the bookshelf models. You will have to return the loser or keep them for a 2nd system. Or, keep the better pair for front L/R and buy the matching center and move the other pair to surround duty.

Be aware that either the Pio or Infinity Subwoofer is pretty much sub-par.
