I just had a new system put in for my Christmas present on 12/15 and now I'm having an issue. Any advice would be helpful to me!

I have a 58" Samsung 8000 series tv, Marantz sr6005, mx450 universal remote with RF base, and all Atlantic Technology speakers and sub. It was installed by a company that I found thru servicemagic.

It has worked fine until 12/30. What happens is that the tv started cutting off and would very briefly flash a blue screen with writing that stated something about the tv supporting something. I finally was able to see the error code HDCP-019. I googled that and after a little research, I found that their were others with this same problem that were with the same carrier as me (Time Warner Cable). I seen where people had stated that the Scientific Atlantic digital cable boxes were the issue and that after getting TWC to swap out the boxes to the Cisco boxes, they problem has been solved.

I called TWC and they told me to bring the boxes in for an exchange. I took them in but they only had Samsung digital boxes. I figure since the tv is Samsung, no problem. It was a simple swap and worked fine until after midnight last night. Now, the screen does not flash but goes black and the word "Marantz" stays on the screen. It stayed that way for 20 minutes last night. This morning, the system worked for 10 minutes and did the same thing but after several minutes, the black screen went away and is now working.

I have searched for results and seem not to find a definitive answer. Please help if you have the expertise that I need. Connections?, HDMI cable?, Digital cable box?, Receiver? Happy new year everybody!

TWC cable boxes are complete crapola. Just my experience. The box I have had crashes often and when I don't want it to. The most likely culprate fir the current blackouts is the box rebooting itself after a crash. I can see my box reboot but I am running component video out to my tv due to it's age. No idea if your blank screen is due to lack of hdmi signal during reboot.

I have not traded my box in yet as I keep forgetting to take it when I am near their closest outlet which 20 minutes away.

I just checked and my twc box is an old Pioneer. No hdmi just old dvi! Course I am too cheap to pay for DVR service. My brothers twc boxes crash a lot as well.

Possible culprit

I had a similar issue with my Sony KDL-46NX800 tv after only having it for less than a month and I was really freaking out. When I was watching something on DVD, it was very smooth, no problem. I was gonna replace the cable running from the wall to the COX cable box which I thought was not handling the HDMI signal but I was told by this guy at my local Radio Shack that it's most likely the splitter between the cable from the wall and cable to the set top box was not upgraded to handle HDMI. So I bought the splitter and it was like Magic! I had to reset the box after switching the splitter though.

I hope this helps.
Good Luck!

The issue seems to be with HDMI handshake.
For sake your of sanity easy way around it is to connect the cable box with component cable and digital coax/optical for sound.
I promise you - you won't loose anything quality wise

I agree with this 100%. I have 4 different time warner boxes and connect them all this way to avoid lipsync and handshake problems. My TV's look identical as to when hooked up to HDMI.

Motorola box here with a local cable company (don't ask ).
I had it connected to my receiver (Yamaha RX-V3800) with HDMI, and from receiver to TV (Sony 46XBR4) with HDMI.
I also had the cable box connected directly to the TV with component and coax. Using a Harmony One remote, this setup allowed me to "watch TV" (cable box and TV) and "TV with audio".
For some unknown reason, I started having problems with audio/video dropouts with my "TV with audio" activity. I would lose picture and sound.
Eliminated the HDMI from cable box to receiver, and connected cable box to receiver with coax.
Changed my "TV with audio" activity on the remote to reflect the changes.
No more problems.
I suspect my problem was with the HDMI connection on the cable box. All other components using HDMI to receiver work fine.
I was too lazy to go through all the steps tp nail down the problem for sure.:D
