Help...Son-NAD773 Dad-Denon3805

I am in the process of purchasing a new receiver that has come down to the Denon 3805 and NAD773.
My son feels the NAD is superior due to NAD's amplification ratings and warmer sound. I like the Denon for the video features and detail. I guess there's a "generation" gap!
We are using this with a 5.1 system that has 4 ohm GMA Europa speakers and Rocket UFW-10 sub.
Is it safe to push 4 ohm speakers regularly with the Denon without Denon listing the support?
What are the strengths/weaknesses between these two receivers in your opinon?

If you are going to run 4 ohm speakers on the unit I would suggest the NAD as it is specified to run down to even 2 ohms! While I don't see the Denon having a big problem with the 4 ohm speakers, it will be much less dynamic being that its power is derrived with only 2 channels driven. The power supply would be near it's limit (in the Denon) just driving two 4 ohm speakers simultaneously. Both are good receivers, but with 4 ohms speakers, the NAD gets my vote hands down.

Agree with Annunaki. Between the two, the NAD would be my choice. It should be able to deliver more dynamic power on your 4-ohm load and produce less strain and heat on the amp than the Denon will.
